Nanofilter gets national media coverage
January 30, 2014

Recently, Gemini described the project MicroTUNIS, running from 2013 to 2016, and Adresseavisen and other national media have carried the story.

The aim of the project is to develop a filter for spectroscopy based on new PiezoMEMS nanotechnology being developed at SINTEF. The filter will be used to measure concentration and composition of different mixtures of gases, fluids or solids.

When complete, the filter will be applied for several uses by partners in the project, such as:

  • Sorting plastic return bottles more precisely to avoid mistakes
  • Measuring gas emissions on large cargo ships carrying cars
  • Optimizing resource utilization in food and animal feed industry
